In March of 2005 Carlisle Capital commenced operations as a specialist mezzanine lender in the Canadian seniors’ housing industry. The target market was developers and owner operators who were building new accommodations to meet the needs of the growing seniors’ housing population.

Over time, Carlisle Capital’s clients were seeking a one-stop shopping lender who could also provide both senior and mezzanine construction and acquisition debt.  In response to this market demand, Carlisle developed a leveraged senior debt product that enabled many of its clients to grow.

Since inception, Carlisle Capital has become the largest lender of its kind in the Canadian seniors’ housing market. The firm is an active participant in industry conferences and maintains ongoing relationships with several top market players.
